This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of Workers’ Compensation claims personnel in daily operations.

• Support the Claims Manager in recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding processes.

• Ensure staff are proficient in procedures and their job responsibilities.

• Maintain compliance with Workers’ Compensation laws and required regulatory reporting.

• Enhance team performance through training, coaching, and performance assessments.

• Suggest merit-based actions pending managerial approval.

• Provide technical and jurisdictional advice on complex issues related to compensability, investigations, litigation, and service accounts.

• Act as a liaison with clients and employees regarding claim-specific, procedural, and special requests.

• Propose and implement final resolutions.

• Engage in customer claim reviews and presentations.

• Attend meetings and travel overnight when necessary.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in claims handling.

• Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation is essential.

• A current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation claims must be maintained throughout employment with CorVel.

• State Certification or license as a qualified claims adjuster.

• Proven public speaking abilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong quantitative, analytical, and interpretive capabilities.

• Demonstrated leadership, management, and motivational abilities.

• Proven strong customer service skills.

• Proficiency in computer skills and technical aptitude, including Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets.

• Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational abilities.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

• Willingness to travel overnight and attend meetings as required.

• Consistent and regular attendance is mandatory.
