This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a substantial inventory of intricate claims to assess compensability and liability
• Organize and execute comprehensive claims investigations to verify coverage and ascertain liability, compensability, and damages
• Evaluate and negotiate suitable claim settlements and reserves within designated authority
• Participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as required
• Communicate intricate coverage and settlement details to insured individuals, claimants, and external partners
• Approve payments within assigned authority thresholds and ensure prompt disbursement
• Keep precise and comprehensive claim files, including correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements
• Potentially mentor staff and engage in talent selection, development, and performance management tasks
• Execute other assigned responsibilities
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Typically, at least 9 years of experience in property and casualty claims management
• Completion of or ongoing progress toward a professional designation such as Associate in Claims (AIC) is preferred
• Experience in Commercial Auto and Litigation is preferred
• Capability to operate within broad parameters and authority on highly technical and complex assignments
• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage, and claims management procedures
• Familiarity with industry laws and regulations
• Advanced skill in organizing and prioritizing caseloads for timely claim resolution
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships and lead negotiations
• Proven capacity to manage confidential information with discretion
• Ability to work fully remotely from the USA if not located near the Richfield, OH office
