Claims Specialist – Billing, Patient Account Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Compile billing data for payer invoicing

• Adhere to contractual obligations related to billing and encounter-data submissions, including monthly reporting

• Dispatch invoices to designated recipients

• Process payments

• Pursue collections on outstanding claims

• Generate advance reconciliations and allocate payments to the general ledger

• Input information into computer databases for efficient record management

• Collaborate with team members to enhance service delivery

• Ensure compliance standards are fulfilled for audit requirements

• Safeguard the confidentiality of client records

• Recognize opportunities for process improvement

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED or 3 years of relevant equivalent experience in lieu of a diploma / GED

• 1-3+ years of experience in an office, business, operations, customer service, or healthcare setting

• Prior experience with insurance portals

• Proficient in PC operations within a Windows environment

• Essential knowledge and use of desktop applications, including Word and Excel

• Capability to initiate and complete projects while working independently with minimal oversight

• Familiarity with administrative and clerical procedures and systems, such as word processing, file and record management, form design, and other office protocols and terminology

• Competent in working with numbers and applying basic math skills to everyday tasks
