This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assess claims business processes and identify opportunities for improving efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
• Perform root cause analyses to identify operational gaps, data discrepancies, or process bottlenecks.
• Create and document current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") workflows using process mapping and related methodologies.
• Partner with business stakeholders to design enhanced end-to-end claims processes.
• Convert business needs into functional process requirements for automation, system upgrades, or workflow redesign.
• Collaborate with the support partner vendor to implement fixes and enhancements to the Duck Creek Claims system.
• Document requirements and conduct user acceptance testing and validation during system release cycles.
• Generate release notes and keep the department informed about system changes as needed.
• Develop, standardize, and maintain claims-related business processes, procedures, and performance metrics.
• Act as a liaison between Claims and other departments to ensure process coherence, data alignment, and improved system capabilities, including Duck Creek and OnBase.
• Support Single Source of Truth initiatives to ensure consistent data usage, definitions, and reporting across systems.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate process effectiveness and turnaround times.
• Prepare and present insights, findings, and recommendations for process improvements to leadership.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate process documentation and ensuring data integrity.
• Lead or engage in business process reengineering (BPR) and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Foster continuous improvement through feedback loops, metric-driven decision making, and proactive issue resolution.
• Execute additional tasks necessary to uphold the Association’s Mission, Values, and Strategic Objectives.
• Experience with Homeowners and Catastrophe (CAT) claims, particularly related to wind and fire events, is preferred — with a focus on understanding end-to-end claims workflows, dependencies, and process challenges.
• Demonstrated experience in process management or business process improvement.
• Advanced knowledge and practical application of process improvement tools and methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Business Process Management (BPM).
• Familiarity with the Duck Creek Claims platform (or similar claims management systems) is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to create clear documentation, process visuals, and performance tracking templates.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
