Claims Adjuster – Liability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate mid- and senior-level general liability claims to ascertain entitled benefits.

• Ensure the continuous adjudication of claims adheres to company standards and industry best practices.

• Recognize subrogation opportunities and facilitate settlement negotiations.

• Collect information to assess liability exposure.

• Assign reserve values and process claims payments as required.

• Resolve claims within the designated authority level.

• Evaluate liability and manage claims resolution accordingly.

• Approve and handle assigned claims while overseeing action plans in line with the claim or client contract.

• Communicate actions related to claims with claimants and clients.

• Accurately document claim files and ensure proper claims coding.

• Process intricate lifetime medical and/or defined period medical claims when necessary.

• Foster and maintain professional relationships with clients.

• Contribute to the organization's quality programs.

• Execute other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or college diploma is preferred.

• A minimum of four (4) years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Expertise in insurance principles and laws pertinent to the relevant line of business.

• Familiarity with recoveries, offsets and deductions, claim and disability duration, and cost containment strategies.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Proficient in PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications.

• Strong analytical and interpretive abilities.

• Excellent organizational capabilities.

• Good interpersonal skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
