This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Manage low-complexity commercial auto claims that encompass physical damage, property damage, total loss, fuel spills, medical payments, and cargo damage.
• Collaborate closely with insured individuals and stakeholders to guarantee prompt and precise claims resolution while delivering outstanding customer service.
• Initiate and maintain communication with involved parties and key stakeholders.
• Provide updates and clarify how new information affects liability analysis and settlement options.
• Work in partnership with vendors for timely appraisals and damage assessments.
• Evaluate coverage by analyzing policy details along with loss facts or allegations.
• Convey coverage decisions and revise coverage analysis as new facts emerge.
• Ensure adherence to jurisdictional and statutory regulations.
• Gather and update claim information, ensuring comprehensive data maintenance.
• Establish and document initial and subsequent loss reserves as well as expense reserves.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders regarding significant adjustments in claim reserving.
• Investigate claims by engaging with policyholders, witnesses, claimants, law enforcement, agents, medical providers, and technical experts.
• Interview witnesses and stakeholders and collect recorded or written statements when necessary.
• Assess recovery potential and manage or direct recovery activities.
• Utilize the diary management system to guarantee timely and compliant claim processing.
• Collaborate with external vendors such as appraisers and independent adjusters.
• Oversee total loss claims, which include vehicle appraisals, diminished value assessments, vendor networks, subrogation demands, salvage operations, and heavy equipment appraisals.
• Execute additional assigned duties.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in casualty claim handling; trucking experience is a plus.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Proficient in computer usage, including a solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
• Previous experience in a customer service role or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Eagerness to learn and broaden knowledge.
• Must acquire independent adjuster’s licenses for all states that necessitate them, including AL, CT, GA, FL, ME, MS, NY, NC, SC, TN, and TX.
• Licenses must be secured within 90 days of hire and require coursework, testing, and background checks, which may include fingerprinting.
• A college degree is preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Occasional business-related travel may be required, estimated at less than 5% of the time.
