This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +2 more countries.
• Create civil site plans for self-storage, industrial, and multifamily developments.
• Develop grading, drainage, erosion control, stormwater, and utility plans based on boundary surveys and topographic maps.
• Conduct calculations for drainage, detention/retention, and cut-and-fill.
• Implement value-engineering strategies to minimize sitework and construction expenses.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and assist with project cost estimation.
• Design floor plans, building layouts, elevations, and basic renderings for mixed units in self-storage and industrial projects.
• Support contractor bidding processes, bid evaluations, permitting, and project coordination.
• Provide updates on schedules and support multiple ongoing projects.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, developers, and construction teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on site design, building plans, and collaboration with U.S. contractors.
• Proficiency in grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility design.
• Strong command of AutoCAD is essential.
• Experience with Civil 3D is preferred.
• Familiarity with HydroCAD, StormCAD, or similar software is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of U.S. engineering standards and construction practices.
• Capability to work independently and handle multiple projects concurrently.
• An English-language resume is mandatory.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time.
• Must be comfortable operating as an independent contractor.
• Previous experience with U.S.-based civil site design or construction projects is required.
• Practical experience in preparing civil site plans, including grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and erosion control.
• Experience with self-storage, industrial, multifamily, or other commercial development projects is beneficial.
• Portfolio showcasing sample work is required.
