Civil Engineer – Offshore, Cable Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.

📋 Description

• Define civil engineering specifications specific to HVDC converter stations and cable systems.

• Assess locations from a civil engineering viewpoint to identify feasibility and technical challenges.

• Review and contribute to cable route feasibility, taking into account crossings, HDD, and access limitations.

• Oversee the technical execution process from drafting tender documents to contract awards.

• Prepare evaluations of technical and economic alternatives to inform investment decisions.

• Report to the Senior Project Engineer regarding project updates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or master’s degree in civil engineering.

• Several years of experience in infrastructure projects, serving as a civil design engineer, consulting engineer, or project manager for a contractor, engineering/consulting firm, and/or employer.

• Knowledge of civil engineering requirements for power infrastructure projects, particularly outdoor HV substation design, HVDC converter stations, buildings, roads, trenches and crossings (HDD), steel structures, and control buildings.

• Experience in civil works, planning, design, and tendering processes.

• Ability to define the work scope for greenfield projects.

• Proven experience and capability to collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver complex transmission projects in Germany.

• Familiarity with project implementation in accordance with HOAI.

• Proficiency in English.

• Specific experience and expertise in landfall civil works (e.g., cable landing HDD) is a plus.
