Civil Engineer – Contract and Claims Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assist project teams in conducting economic evaluations of construction initiatives

• Collaborate with senior management to develop the claims management process

• Prepare and manage contract change requests and claims

• Assess contractual deviations and compile claims submissions

• Examine bills of quantities (BOQ), contracts, and tender documentation

• Identify and evaluate economic claim opportunities during project execution

• Draft disruption notices (notices of hindrance) and other contract-related communications

• Provide economic evaluations of claims and assist in price determinations

• Coordinate with project managers, site managers, and clients

• Support claims negotiations and, potentially, lead negotiations independently

• Actively engage in and enhance the company’s claims procedures

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed degree in a construction-related field, such as Civil Engineering or Industrial Engineering with a focus on construction; alternatively, further training as a construction technician or a similar technical qualification

• Strong technical understanding of construction processes and an interest in commercial and financial aspects

• Familiarity with VOB/B and a comprehension of contractual relationships

• Proficient in MS Office applications

• Fluent in German for effective communication both internally and externally

• Nice to have: Initial professional experience in building construction

• Nice to have: Background in estimating, site management, construction accounting, or claims management

• Nice to have: Experience with bills of quantities (Leistungsverzeichnisse)

• Nice to have: Strong negotiation abilities when interfacing with clients
