This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Create engineering drawings for assigned projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to requirements, relevant codes, and design guidelines.
• Execute design tasks of moderate complexity with direct supervision.
• Generate engineering drawings of moderate complexity under general oversight.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers on mining initiatives.
• Spearhead civil design projects and deliver tailored solutions.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members.
• Produce figures, drawings, material take-off quantities, reports, and specifications.
• Design various projects including grading, surface models, site development, roads, dams, utilities, pipelines, drainage, slope stabilization, retaining walls, detention ponds, land development, and stream restoration.
• Prepare calculation packages for earthwork volumes, reservoir storage capacities, and tailing storage.
• Construct existing base surfaces using LiDAR, survey points, break lines, DEMs, and contours.
• Oversee survey and client data management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Carry out routine and non-routine complex design tasks, resolving issues or offering recommendations.
• Provide leadership and guidance for assigned CAD technologies within the project team.
• Attend in-person onboarding on Day 1 at an AECOM office location.
• BA/BS degree plus 6 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
• Extensive proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D up to release 2025.
• Advanced capabilities in complex surface and pipeline modeling.
• Experience in grading, earthwork, pipeline design, and civil/site design.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, permits, design criteria, standards, and procedures.
• Ability to create designs and drawings based on project specifications and discipline guidelines.
• Basic understanding of design calculations and verification methodologies.
• Experience in reviewing vendor and supplier documentation.
• Knowledge of requisitions, materials management, cost estimating, material take-offs, cost analysis, and forecasting.
• Understanding of project change control processes.
• Proficient in processing LiDAR, survey points, break lines, DEMs, and contours.
• Detailed knowledge of coordinate systems and data transformation.
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Comprehensive understanding of industry standards.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, ProjectWise, Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, NavisWorks, and GIS applications such as ESRI GIS, Blue Marble Global Mapper, or similar tools.
• Experience with InfraWorks, ReCap, Bluebeam, or Revit is a plus.
