This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Manage greenfield and add/move/change initiatives for colocation and hyperscale data centers from the due diligence phase through construction administration.
• Lead teams focused on data center due diligence, planning, and design.
• Oversee prototype development, test fitting, mass grading, stormwater management, utility prepositioning and design, as well as roadway design.
• Create and enforce comprehensive multi-site project and program management strategies.
• Organize and participate in meetings with clients and external stakeholders.
• Oversee and communicate project modifications within AECOM and to clients.
• Recognize and reduce project risks through innovative solutions.
• Provide project updates and address any outstanding issues.
• Prepare technical and financial proposals for data center design initiatives.
• Cultivate relationships with clients and consultant stakeholders.
• Mentor junior staff and encourage their professional development.
• Promote accountability, innovation, and strategic thinking within the team.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, along with eight (8) years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• A Professional Engineer (P.E.) License.
• Proven experience with colocation and hyperscale data center projects.
• Experience in managing civil and utility infrastructure design for industrial and data center projects.
• A solid background in civil engineering.
• A Master’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering, or Business Administration (preferred).
• Six years of relevant experience in industrial and data center design and/or project management (preferred).
• Lean Six Sigma Certification (preferred).
• Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Professional (preferred).
• Recent or active leadership involvement in a data center and mission-critical trade organization (preferred).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to operate in dynamic, time-sensitive environments with minimal oversight.
• Strong team leadership abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Periodic travel may be necessary.
