This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Support Civil Engineers, Technical Managers, and Project Managers with data analysis, computations, design, and plan development for water and wastewater civil engineering initiatives.
β’ Contribute to design efforts, construction documentation, plan creation, mapping, basic reporting, and supplementary documentation for water and wastewater engineering projects.
β’ Collect project-site background data, including reviewing as-built plans and mapping current utility services.
β’ Create 1D and 2D surface water hydraulic models for floodplain mapping of specific watershed areas.
β’ Conduct feasibility assessments for water supply systems, runoff collection networks, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and wastewater collection systems.
β’ Prepare environmental documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory programs.
β’ Execute hydrological analyses using three-dimensional simulation software to model water movement.
β’ Attend internal project meetings and engage as needed.
β’ Occasionally visit project sites and report findings to Engineers and/or Project Managers.
β’ Assist with technical analysis and perform design calculations.
β’ Aid in the development of construction specifications for water and wastewater engineering projects.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
β’ 2 years of experience in Civil Engineering β Surface Water or a related field.
β’ Proven experience in municipal and highway water drainage projects.
β’ Solid understanding of local drainage regulations for Southern California.
β’ Demonstrated experience collaborating with municipal departments, regional agencies, and state and federal agencies in California.
β’ Proficient in at least 8 of the following software tools: AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, ArcGIS Pro, HydroCalc, TR-55, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, FlowMaster, CulvertMaster, and PondPack.
β’ Knowledge of XPSWMM and PCSWMM Storm Water Management Models (SWMM).
β’ Ability to occasionally visit project sites.
