Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise the quality assurance of psychiatric services in both outpatient and inpatient environments

• Enhance accessibility to high-quality mental health care for children

• Develop mental health provider capabilities and create referral networks with hospitals, Residential Treatment Centers, and secure facilities

• Monitor mental health conditions among children in the care of ORR

• Perform site visits and needs assessments of mental health service offerings

• Educate stakeholders on best practices in mental health and child safety

• Engage in cross-ORR workgroups to ensure compliance with legal and service standards

• Identify suitable mental health interventions in cases of sexual abuse or harassment

• Evaluate and review response protocols for incidents of abuse and harassment

• Provide consultation on cases that involve the risk of inappropriate sexual behavior or unmet mental health needs

• Offer oversight and guidance regarding the prescribing and administration of psychotropic medications

• Ensure that psychiatric care policies and practices adhere to health, safety, and legal settlement standards

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO with an active clinical psychiatry license

• A minimum of 10 years of experience

• Specialized training in child and adolescent psychiatry

• Proficiency in dealing with trauma and high-risk youth populations

• Must be able to secure and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

• Understanding of migrant/refugee issues, especially those affecting children

• Experience working within a refugee program

• Previous experience in a consulting role

• Capability to foster and contribute to an equitable and inclusive organizational culture and environment

• Skill in managing competing priorities, diverse perspectives, and stakeholder needs

• Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communication abilities

• Exemplary professionalism, judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy

• Availability for full-time work with on-call/after-hours responsibilities
