Chief Technology Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define the technological strategy, encompassing architecture, decisions between building or purchasing solutions, platform standardization, and priorities for AI investments.

• Lead and expand a distributed engineering and data team of approximately ten members located in Latin America.

• Successfully transition away from legacy systems and enhance the platform to accommodate increased transaction volumes.

• Develop AI agents and capabilities to create a sustainable competitive edge.

• Oversee security, access governance, vendor management, monitoring, documentation, and resilience practices.

• Participate in the Executive Committee and collaborate with the CEO along with leaders from sales, marketing, and operations.

• Convert business requirements into technological execution and provide guidance to executives regarding technical feasibility and trade-offs.

• Establish a consistent engineering operational rhythm, make intentional technology decisions, and recruit talent that elevates performance standards.

• Ensure that critical systems and knowledge are not reliant on any single individual.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in technology with progressive leadership roles, including positions such as CTO, VP of Engineering, or Head of Technology.

• Proven experience in scaling teams and systems from functional yet fragile to reliable and high-volume capable.

• Technical proficiency to analyze architecture, question design choices, and assess vendors.

• Extensive background in AI-driven architecture, cloud infrastructure, APIs, integrations, and data management.

• Experience identifying weaknesses in architecture, tooling, security, and processes.

• Proven leadership in managing remote, distributed, and international teams.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and limited resources, making decisions with incomplete information.

• Capability to link technical investments to revenue and justify them to a CEO.

• Experience in real estate, proptech, or fintech is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Background in managing a US-based company with a LatAm engineering team is beneficial but not essential.

• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not a requirement.
