Chief Technology Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic leadership for the Technology Unit consisting of around 40 employees.

• Establish the unit’s direction, promote accountability, and create the conditions for high-performing teams.

• Share responsibility with team leads for the professional and personnel development of the unit.

• Focus on developing people and structures instead of just programming operationally.

• Monitor utilization and capacity effectively.

• Ensure proactive resource and capacity planning.

• Stay updated on technology trends relevant to ida and assess current developments and workflows for complex software projects.

• Lead the discussion on AI, from strategic positioning to delivering tangible benefits for ida and its clients.

• Align the technology vision closely with client needs and serve as a sparring partner.

• Challenge and critically assess effort estimates and technical concepts for larger projects and tenders.

• Facilitate realistic planning and ensure high-quality execution.

• As a key member of ida’s management team, contribute to shaping the agency’s strategic direction and portfolio development.

• Assume responsibility for pertinent KPIs and budgets.

• Demonstrated leadership experience in an agile environment.

• Experience in managing managers.

• A managerial and enabling mindset, rather than focusing solely on operational development.

• Excellent communication skills, reliability, and initiative.

• Capability to honor commitments and independently drive initiatives forward.

• Ability to solve problems independently rather than just identifying them.

• Strong understanding of technology.

• Awareness of technology trends, tools, and practices, along with their relevance to business.

• Extensive hands-on coding experience is not specifically required.

• A broad network in the tech industry with a willingness to expand it further.

• Experience in a digital agency and/or media company is a plus, though not essential.
