This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Act as a strategic ally to the CEO and a proactive member of the Strategic Management Team.

• Convert organizational priorities into annual and multi-year plans, detailing responsibilities, timelines, resources, and metrics for progress.

• Evaluate opportunities and challenges regarding mission impact, finances, capacity, risk, and partner influences; track progress and resolve barriers.

• Represent Fòs Feminista in interactions with the Board, partners, donors, advisers, and other external stakeholders.

• Integrate strategy, finance, personnel, evidence, legal matters, resource mobilization, and operational capabilities.

• Enhance cross-unit planning, clarify roles and decision-making processes, and address organizational shortfalls.

• Spearhead policy formulation, implementation of integrated systems, responsible AI usage, and significant organizational transformations.

• Offer executive supervision of financial planning and performance alongside the CFO and CEO.

• Assist with budgets, financial scenarios, resource distribution, performance evaluation, sustainability, and risk assessment.

• Ensure robust systems for financial controls, restricted funding, grants and contracts, audits, procurement, and compliance.

• Align revenue strategies and major proposals with organizational priorities, capabilities, forecasts, partner commitments, costing, and risk factors.

• Enhance coordination throughout the funding cycle and support governance and performance monitoring of the Feminist Impact Fund.

• Participate in select donor discussions requiring executive involvement.

• Provide strategic guidance to People, Inclusion, and Culture, covering recruitment, performance, compensation, development, succession, and staff welfare.

• Strengthen management practices, organizational design, workforce planning, accountability, and team development.

• Offer strategic oversight to Business Intelligence, Evaluation, and Research, enhancing data-informed planning and decision-making.

• Ensure governance, protection, and ethical management of organizational and partner data.

• Supervise staff safety, digital and information security, AI-related risks, and crisis management.

• Provide executive oversight of Legal Affairs, integrating legal considerations into organizational planning and decisions.

• Maintain comprehensive approaches to managing legal, financial, operational, safeguarding, security, data, reputational, and personnel-related risks.

• Ensure understanding and management of contractual, regulatory, and governance obligations across jurisdictions.

• Safeguard the professional independence of Legal Affairs.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior executive or enterprise-wide position within a complex international nonprofit, philanthropic, social-impact, or similar mission-driven organization.

• Experience in leading or integrating multiple functions, such as finance, people and culture, operations, legal or compliance, organizational data, strategy execution, or business growth.

• Strong financial acumen and experience in utilizing budgets, forecasts, and analyses to inform decisions and link strategy to measurable outcomes.

• Experience operating across different countries, cultures, legal frameworks, or dispersed teams.

• Proven ability to cultivate productive relationships with senior colleagues, boards, staff, partners, donors, and advisers.

• Experience in driving change, enhancing systems without excessive bureaucracy, supporting functional leaders, and promoting collective accountability.

• Excellent judgment in handling sensitive issues.

• Commitment to feminist principles, sexual and reproductive health and rights, racial and gender justice, and leadership from the Global South.

• Understanding of partnership-based organizations and systems responsive to partner needs.

• Professional proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, or French is a plus.

• Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding in the United States and internationally.

• Must sign and adhere to Fòs Feminista’s International Safeguarding Policy and Safeguarding Code of Conduct, including minimum operating standards for PSEA.
