Chief Marketing Officer

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance Junior Achievement USA’s enterprise brand, marketing, communications, and market engagement strategy in collaboration with the CEO, senior leadership, and key stakeholders.

• Lead national outreach and awareness initiatives to boost visibility, relevance, and engagement with key audiences.

• Define the strategic direction for business-to-business marketing targeting education decision makers, corporate responsibility leaders, high-net-worth individuals, and foundations.

• Establish Junior Achievement as a national thought leader through research, storytelling, executive communications, digital engagement, and mission-focused content.

• Create the strategic vision and operational framework for marketing services that support over 90 JA offices.

• Manage an agency-style shared-services model encompassing websites, brand standards, messaging, toolkits, media assets, and marketing guidance.

• Direct strategic marketing solutions for JA learning experiences, including sales enablement, videos, thought leadership, storytelling, and social media.

• Foster engagement, alignment, and adoption across the federated JA network.

• Develop the enterprise roadmap for marketing technology, digital engagement, and marketing automation.

• Oversee integrated email marketing and automation linked to the D365 CRM platform.

• Utilize audience insights, benchmarking, analytics, and performance data to enhance segmentation, engagement, resource allocation, and decision-making.

• Provide counsel to the CEO and senior leadership on brand, marketing, communications, market engagement, and reputation management.

• Align marketing priorities with Education, Development, Area Support, Human Resources, Information Technology, and other functions.

• Communicate strategies and recommendations to executive, governance, network, employee, and external audiences.

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of approximately ten professionals.

• Enhance leadership capacity and accountability for outcomes, collaboration, financial stewardship, and talent development.

• Plan for future talent needs, organizational structure, succession, external partnerships, and workforce capacity.

• Manage the marketing budget, resources, external partners, and organizational investments.

• Oversee an annual marketing budget of around $640,000.

• Track financial and operational performance while managing resources responsibly.


⛳️ Requirements

• 12+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in marketing, brand management, communications, market engagement, or a related discipline.

• Extensive experience in leading a major organizational function, enterprise-wide initiatives, or complex business operations.

• Proven experience advising a Chief Executive Officer, executive leadership team, governing body, or a similar senior stakeholder group.

• Significant experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, developing organizational and leadership capacity, and guiding teams through transformations.

• Proven track record of managing substantial budgets, making strategic resource allocation decisions, and overseeing external vendors, agencies, or partners.

• In-depth expertise in integrated marketing, brand positioning, audience strategy, digital engagement, content strategy, market analytics, executive communications, and agency-style service delivery.

• Ability to translate organizational strategy into actionable functional and cross-functional priorities.

• Strong capabilities in strategic planning, organizational design, talent development, and change leadership.

• Solid financial acumen with a demonstrated ability to balance strategic priorities with responsible budget and resource management.

• Exceptional skills in executive communication, influence, and stakeholder management.

• Experience leading marketing efforts within a federated, networked, matrixed, nonprofit, education, purpose-driven, or similarly stakeholder-intensive organization.

• Experience in leading or evolving an agency-style or shared-services marketing model.

• Familiarity with CRM-enabled marketing automation, digital platforms, audience analytics, and performance insights.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.

• Must live in and have authorization to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout the duration of employment.
