Chief Financial Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the financial strategy, reporting, and controls for the organization.

• Lead and nurture a finance team of two, enhancing capabilities while promoting efficiency and innovation.

• Spearhead AI, automation, and systems transformation throughout the business.

• Develop forecasting models, management information packs, and establish a KPI cadence.

• Oversee the annual budgeting process and continuous cash flow forecasting.

• Analyze the company's cost structure to identify areas for improved efficiency and profitability.

• Manage banking relationships while supporting debt servicing and covenant management.

• Provide governance discipline and reporting at the board level.

• Collaborate with Product and Commercial teams on pricing strategies and commercial value drivers.

• Consult with the CEO on capital allocation decisions, including dividends, reinvestment, and debt repayment.

• Assist in the design and implementation of a future employee equity (EMI) scheme.

• Establish financial foundations and enhance team capabilities for sustained growth.

• Report directly to the CEO, working closely on financial strategy initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader within a B2B environment, preferably in events, exhibitions, media, or subscriptions.

• Background in a business that has experienced a genuine scaling journey.

• Experience in a growth-focused or private equity-backed setting.

• A mature, partnership-oriented mindset when collaborating with a founder-led leadership team.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a small finance team.

• Strong skills in financial modeling, forecasting, and cash flow management.

• Familiarity with board pack preparation and management information protocols.

• Ability to bridge finance with commercial and product decision-making effectively.

• Proficiency with AI and contemporary data tools.

• Knowledge of HubSpot or similar systems is advantageous but not essential.

• Experience with exit planning and/or EMI or other equity incentive programs is a plus, though not required.
