This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Report directly to the Captain and the Marine Management Team.
• Ensure the vessel and its equipment are maintained effectively through both short-term and long-term strategies.
• Collaborate with the Captain to guarantee the safety of the crew and vessel.
• Operate the vessel with prudence, demonstrating excellent seamanship.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, Classification Society standards, and Transport Canada regulations.
• Take charge of the operation and maintenance of all shipboard equipment.
• Ensure that maintenance is performed and documented in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Optimize vessel efficiency in collaboration with navigation officers and factory watch supervisors.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs in the engine room, factories, and deck areas.
• Conduct daily inspections of the vessel and its equipment.
• Develop maintenance programs and coordinate refit planning with the Marine Management Team.
• Document inspections and repairs to ensure the vessel is prepared for scheduled sailings.
• Manage vessel turnaround and maintenance layover periods.
• Advocate for the digital Safety Management System.
• Oversee tasks assigned to the engine room team.
• Communicate operational and maintenance requirements to Deck and Factory supervisors.
• A valid Engineer's motor certificate, class 2 or higher.
• A commercial fishing license.
• A valid passport.
• Seafarers Medical certification.
• MED WHMIS certification.
• Demonstrated experience at a Senior Manager/Supervisor level.
