Charge Description Master Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Ensure that the Chargemaster aligns with coding and billing regulations while accurately reflecting the services rendered.

• Serve as a communication link between the Hospital ministry and the PSJH System Revenue Integrity/Chargemaster Department.

• Investigate CDM maintenance requests to ensure compliance with the PSJH System's standard CDM.

• Address inquiries from the Hospital ministry regarding Chargemaster-related issues.

• Provide training to Hospital ministry staff on CDM maintenance, updates in coding, and enhancements in charge capture.

• Work collaboratively with CDM Leads, Senior Specialists, and CDM Specialists to investigate and resolve requests.

• Manage the daily workflow of CDM maintenance between the PSJH System and various Ministries.

• Oversee the alignment of the ministry with the PSJH System's standard CDM.

• Create documentation for policies and procedures related to CDM maintenance and charge processes.

• Evaluate clinical department charges for compliance with the Chargemaster and coding standards.

• Collaborate with Hospital ministry, IS, Clinical Informatics, and Integration teams on technology projects that impact charge entry, charge dictionaries, and charge interfaces.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Sciences, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital chargemaster operations, including CDM Maintenance software, inpatient and outpatient billing requirements (UB-04), and CMS Medicare reimbursement methods.

• Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding principles.

• At least 3 years of experience in hospital charging practices.

• 2 years of experience with EMR systems related to Chargemaster, preferably with EPIC (EAP).

• Adherence to all relevant state driving laws and regulations; proof of a valid driver's license and auto insurance may be required upon request.
