
Chaplain – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Act as a messenger, conveying the faith, mission, and purpose of the organization.
• Regularly visit company worksites, typically on a weekly basis, to engage with employees and cultivate relationships built on trust and friendship inspired by Christian faith.
• Visit employees or their immediate family members in various settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, private residences, and other locations where care can be offered and assistance provided.
• Offer confidential pastoral discussions on matters such as family issues, divorce, serious health concerns, aging parents, grief recovery, parenting, financial challenges, and other personal matters.
• Provide referrals and coordinate specialized support for employees and their immediate family members with specific needs.
• Assist in the planning, conducting, or attendance at funerals, while also providing follow-up grief support.
• Conduct jail visits for employees and their immediate family members as necessary.
• Deliver notifications of death and serious injuries to families and other employees, offering encouragement to those affected by tragedies.
• Provide post-termination care for employees who have been laid off or terminated.
• Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities when deemed appropriate.
• Distribute literature and other resources to assist employees with life challenges.
• Represent the organization to clients and customers when ministry services are relevant.
• Participate in new employee orientation to explain the role of the Employee Care Service and Chaplain Team.
• Carry out other duties and services as requested by company executive leadership, with EDO approval and in compliance with the Letter of Agreement.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team in an interfaith environment.
• Open-mindedness to accept diverse lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
• Strong listening and interaction skills with clients, employees, and families.
• Competence in delivering community presentations.
• Capability to manage interactions with family members and staff in high-stress situations.

• Proficiency in coping with stressful scenarios and accurately documenting information in accordance with standards.
• Demonstrated spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle, aligned with MCHAP ministry values.
• Basic understanding of the Holy Bible and its appropriate application.
• Profound faith in Jesus Christ and active involvement in a biblically grounded church.
• Professional diplomacy, patience, and courtesy while engaging with diverse groups.
• Ability to foster and sustain effective and cooperative working relationships.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Competence in making administrative and procedural decisions on sensitive and confidential matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to maintain emotional stability when dealing with human suffering, emergencies, and other stressors.
• Skills in analyzing information, identifying problems or objectives, determining solutions, and resolving issues.
• Proficiency in interpreting relevant policies and procedures while keeping others informed.
• Computer literacy with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and web-based software applications.
• Willingness to understand and learn new technological programs.
• Valid state driver's license and minimum state-required auto insurance in the areas where clients are served.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
