Chaplain – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Act as a messenger and promoter of faith, mission, and purpose.

• Engage with companies, employees, and the community in a way that reflects character through personal and spiritual disciplines.

• Conduct regular visits, typically on a weekly basis, to company worksites to foster relationships built on trust and friendship inspired by Christian faith.

• Visit employees or their immediate family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, or other care facilities.

• Offer confidential pastoral conversations regarding family issues, divorce, serious health concerns, elder care, death and grief, parenting, financial pressures, and other personal challenges.

• Provide referrals and coordinate specialized support for employees and their immediate family members.

• Assist with or attend funerals and offer follow-up grief support.

• Make jail visits to employees and their family members when necessary.

• Deliver notifications of death and serious injuries, providing encouragement to those impacted by tragedies.

• Offer post-termination support for employees who have been laid off or terminated.

• Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities when suitable, without leading them.

• Distribute literature and other resources addressing employees' life challenges.

• Represent companies to clients/customers when ministry services are warranted.

• Participate in new employee orientation to articulate the role of Employee Care Service and Chaplain Team.

• Carry out additional duties and services as requested by company executive leadership with EDO approval and within the Letter of Agreement.

• Skill in handling stressful circumstances and documenting accurately according to established standards.

• Spiritual maturity and dedication to a Christian lifestyle aligned with MCHAP Ministry values.

• Basic understanding of the Holy Bible and its appropriate application.

• Profound faith in Jesus Christ and active involvement in a biblically-based church.

• Professional diplomacy, patience, and respectfulness in dealings with diverse groups.

• Ability to develop and sustain effective, cooperative working relationships while providing outstanding customer service.

• Capability to make administrative and procedural decisions regarding sensitive, confidential matters.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Emotional resilience to manage human suffering, emergencies, and other stressors.

• Proficiency in analyzing information, defining and following up on issues or objectives, identifying solutions, and resolving problems.

• Expertise in interpreting relevant policies and procedures and ensuring others are kept informed.

• Computer proficiency in Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and web-based software applications.

• Willingness to learn new technological programs.

• Valid state driver's license and state-minimum auto insurance in the areas served.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.

• Part-time schedule of approximately 3–5 hours per month.
