This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Act as a messenger and bearer of faith, mission, and purpose.
• Engage with companies, employees, and the community through personal and spiritual practices.
• Conduct regular visits to company worksites, typically on a weekly basis.
• Visit employees and their immediate family members in various care environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, and other facilities.
• Offer confidential pastoral discussions regarding family matters, divorce, illness, elder care, death and grief, parenting, financial difficulties, and other personal challenges.
• Provide referrals and coordinate specialized support for employees and their immediate family members.
• Assist with or attend funerals and offer follow-up grief support.
• Make jail visits when necessary.
• Deliver death and serious injury notifications and support those impacted by tragedies.
• Provide post-termination support for laid-off or terminated employees.
• Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities without taking the lead.
• Supply literature and resources addressing employees' life issues.
• Represent companies to clients or customers when ministry services are appropriate.
• Participate in new employee orientation by explaining the Employee Care Service and the role of the Chaplain Team.
• Perform additional duties as requested by company executive leadership with the permission of the Executive Director of Operations and in accordance with the Letter of Agreement.
• Ability to collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary group and in an interfaith environment.
• Capacity to accept diverse lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
• Strong listening and interaction abilities with clients, employees, and families.
• Competence in delivering community presentations.
• Skill in effectively managing interactions with family members and staff in stressful situations.

• Ability to navigate stressful scenarios and document accurately per established standards.
• Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle and MCHAP Ministry values.
• Basic understanding of the Holy Bible and its suitable application.
• Saving faith in Jesus Christ and active involvement in a biblically based church.
• Professional diplomacy, patience, and courtesy when engaging with diverse groups.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective cooperative working relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Capacity to make administrative and procedural decisions regarding sensitive, confidential matters.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain emotional stability while dealing with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.
• Proficiency in analyzing information, following up on issues or objectives, identifying solutions, and resolving problems.
• Skill in interpreting position-related policies and procedures while keeping others informed.
• Computer proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email messaging, and web-based software applications.
• Willingness to learn new technology programs.
• Active state driver’s license and state minimum auto insurance in the states where clients are served.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
• Part-time schedule with assigned hours typically consistent week to week, though no guaranteed minimum hours.
• Work-from-home/remote field position.
• Role within the Employee Care Service ministry support.
• Opportunities to provide pastoral care, referrals, and specialized assistance to employees and their immediate family members.
