This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Act as a messenger and representative of faith, mission, and purpose.
• Engage with companies, employees, and the community while demonstrating character through personal and spiritual practices.
• Conduct regular visits to company worksites, typically on a weekly basis, to connect with employees and foster trusted relationships rooted in Christian faith.
• Visit employees or their immediate family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, or other locations as needed.
• Offer confidential pastoral conversations concerning family issues, divorce, serious health conditions, caregiving, grief recovery, parenting, financial challenges, and other personal matters.
• Provide referrals and arrange specialized support for employees and their immediate families.
• Assist in the planning, conducting, or attending of funerals and deliver follow-up grief support.
• Make visits to jails to support employees and their immediate family members when required.
• Deliver notifications of death and serious injuries, and offer encouragement to those affected by tragedies.
• Provide post-termination care for employees who have been laid off or terminated.
• Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities when appropriate.
• Distribute literature and resources to help employees navigate life challenges.
• Represent companies to clients and customers when ministry services are applicable.
• Participate in new employee orientation to explain the Employee Care Service and Chaplain Team's role.
• Carry out additional duties and services as requested by company executive leadership with EDO permission and in accordance with the Letter of Agreement.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team and within an interfaith environment.
• Openness to various lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
• Strong listening and interaction skills with clients, employees, and families.
• Proficiency in delivering community presentations.
• Capability to manage interactions with family members and staff during high-stress situations.
• Deep respect for the dignity and worth of clients, employees, and their families.
• Ability to handle stressful situations while documenting accurately according to established standards.
• Spiritual maturity and a commitment to a Christian lifestyle, aligning with MCHAP's Ministry values.
• Basic understanding of the Holy Bible and its appropriate application.
• Must profess a saving faith in Jesus Christ and be actively involved in a biblically based church.
• Capacity to engage professionally with diplomacy, patience, and courtesy across diverse groups.
• Ability to build and sustain effective, cooperative working relationships.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Competence in making administrative and procedural decisions on sensitive, confidential matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to maintain emotional stability in the face of human suffering, emergencies, and other stressors.
• Skill in analyzing information to identify and follow up on problems or objectives.
• Ability to recognize solutions and resolve issues effectively.
• Proficiency in interpreting policies and procedures related to the role and keeping others informed.
• Computer literacy with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet use, email messaging, and web-based software applications.
• Willingness to understand and learn new technology programs.
• Valid state driver's license and state-minimum auto insurance in the states where clients are serviced.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
• Part-time work arrangement.
