This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Evaluate clinical and demographic data from health records to allocate ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes.

• Assess and examine medical records for outpatient diagnosis and procedure coding.

• Implement coding guidelines in line with regulatory and organizational standards.

• Detect documentation deficiencies and initiate queries for clarification.

• Address routine coding edits and start inquiries for precise code assignment.

• Uphold productivity and accuracy benchmarks while managing designated work queues.

• Collaborate effectively with coding team members and internal stakeholders.

• Convey documentation requirements and coding queries to relevant parties.

• Utilize coding tools and resources to resolve standard issues and escalate when necessary.

• Accurately complete assigned coding tasks within set timelines.

• Adhere to workflows while identifying basic opportunities for efficiency improvements.

• Contribute to accurate coding outcomes that support reimbursement and data integrity.

• Adjust to changes in coding guidelines, tools, and payer requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• One of the following certifications: AHIMA-CCA, AHIMA-RHIA, AHIMA-RHIT, AHIMA-CCS, AAPC-CPC, AAPC-CPC-A, AAPC-CIC, or AAPC-COC.

• Apply ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding for low-complexity outpatient encounters.

• Utilize coding guidelines and payer regulations for accurate and compliant code assignment.

• Review documentation, identify gaps, and initiate clarification as necessary.

• Resolve standard coding edits.

• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards within assigned work queues.
