This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Analyze medical record documentation to extract essential details required for selecting comprehensive diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign codes for evaluation and management utilizing the appropriate CPT codes.
• Code diagnoses using the relevant ICD-10 codes.
• Collaborate with physicians to review documentation, address coding issues, obtain signatures for unsigned dates of service, and flag files for follow-up.
• Serve as the lead individual while assisting coders and IBC staff with medical terminology and policy interpretation.
• Support initiatives aimed at enhancing physician awareness regarding documentation requirements.
• Create case reports and initiate follow-up actions for the billing process.
• Must possess one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, or CCS-P); AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A, or any AAPC specialty-specific coding credential).
• No specific prior work experience is necessary.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred.
• Knowledge of Computer Systems.
• Understanding of ICD-10 Procedure Coding System.
• Background in Medical Billing and Coding.
• Proficiency in Medical Terminology.
• A diploma, certification, or degree is not mandatory.
• A driver's license is not required.
