Cell Biology Image Annotation, Evaluation Specialist – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Assess and classify high-content fluorescence microscopy images, including those from Cell Painting assays that involve chemical or genetic modifications.

• Differentiate authentic biological events from technical or imaging artifacts such as edge effects, staining irregularities, debris, and defocus.

• Work in conjunction with machine learning teams to enhance labeling frameworks, evaluation criteria, and benchmark datasets for cell biology applications.

• Provide succinct overviews or representative examples of previous work related to cell biology image analysis or microscopy evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical laboratory experience in Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Biophysics, or a related field in life sciences.

• Direct experience in high-content screening (HCS), fluorescence microscopy, and Cell Painting or other similar multi-channel assays.

• Proven expertise in phenotypic screening, cellular morphology assessment, and interpreting responses to chemical or genetic perturbations.

• Familiarity with image analysis software such as CellProfiler, ImageJ/Fiji, QuPath, or custom Python workflows.

• Capability to effectively document edge cases and communicate biological reasoning to machine learning engineers without a biology background.

• Concise overviews or representative examples of previous work in cell biology image analysis or microscopy evaluations.
