CBO Certified Coder II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Evaluate medical records and assign the correct ICD and CPT codes.

• Code all designated outpatient record types on a daily basis.

• Provide assistance with audits as necessary.

• Oversee the assigned charge review work queue.

• Code records promptly.

• Sustain coding performance in line with departmental accuracy targets and productivity standards for each record type.

• Aid billing personnel with coding inquiries to address denials.

• Respond to coding requests from both internal and external clients, including business offices and physician offices.

• Request necessary information from physicians.

• Participate in educational programs and attend hospital and departmental staff meetings.

• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the CBO Coding Manager and/or Director.

• Comply with hospital policies, procedures, confidentiality, ethics, and corporate compliance guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or an Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; three to five years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Preferred 3-5 years of physician coding experience.

• Experience in pediatric multi-specialty coding is preferred.

• Certification is required in any of the following: CCS, CCS-P, CPC, AAPC specialty coding certifications, RCC Radiology coding certification.

• Must complete continuing education hours to maintain certification.

• Capability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Must uphold the highest level of confidentiality.

• Compliance with hospital policies and procedures is required.
