This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Develop, execute, and implement strategies for categories by engaging with stakeholders, analyzing expenditure and market trends, formulating sourcing plans, and revising strategies as business conditions change.
• Identify, prioritize, and implement scalable consignment or EBOS opportunities across EBOS categories and projects.
• Oversee supplier relationship management through executive-level engagement, conducting business reviews, performance monitoring, and addressing operational needs such as expedites.
• Enhance category financial performance by establishing financial strategies, creating pricing methods, and leading monthly and annual financial reviews, including metrics, forecasts, and project updates.
• Attain material cost reductions by directing contract negotiations, outlining negotiation strategies and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models, tracking market drivers, and managing commodity inflation forecasting and mitigation.
• Establish negotiation strategies that encompass supplier profiles, commercial negotiation targets, switching costs, and Total Cost of Ownership.
• Evaluate category opportunities by analyzing spend segmentation, category maturity, cost drivers, and supply market analysis.
• Cultivate robust cross-functional relationships by collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Monitor market drivers impacting the category, including raw material pricing and availability, supplier capacity, industry disruptions, and new product introductions.
• Provide leadership and coaching by exemplifying expected behaviors, delivering constructive feedback, managing performance, and supporting additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in strategically managing and expanding categories and suppliers, with a strong background in indirect materials and services categories.
• Current driver's license.
• In-depth understanding of consumables and the purchasing processes and procedures for indirect materials and services.
• Strong business acumen with skills in strategic thinking and negotiation.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to lead individuals, with experience in hiring, coaching, and mentoring a team of professionals to anticipate needs and achieve both short-term and long-term goals.
• Capability to influence without authority.
• Active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Knowledge of construction processes, equipment, materials, and purchasing processes and procedures.
• Skills in negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal communication, and interpersonal communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% as required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status.
