This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Investigate, negotiate, and resolve moderately complex to highly complex property claims that involve contents, structural exposures, and Additional Living Expense (ALE).
• Manage escalated, high-severity, catastrophe, total-loss, and claims represented by attorneys.
• Conduct coverage investigations and apply specific state regulations along with non-standard coverages.
• Assess damages, interpret policy coverage, ensure compliance with regulations, and authorize payments.
• Collaborate remotely with field adjusters, mitigation vendors, external partners, structure adjusters, and cross-functional teams.
• Review engineering reports, estimates, supplements, and other relevant documentation.
• Maintain empathetic, customer-focused communication throughout the claims process.
• Negotiate settlements in accordance with company standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Utilize data and analytics to inform claim decisions and outcomes.
• Work Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM CT, with rotating weekend coverage every 6 to 8 weeks and the possibility of mandatory support during CAT/large-claim events.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma/GED (Bachelor’s degree is preferred).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in property insurance claims handling.
• At least 2 years of experience managing fire, water, and theft claims, including contents and Additional Living Expense (ALE).
• Strong understanding of dwelling, contents, ALE, and state-specific or less common coverages.
• Experience dealing with complex, high-severity losses, catastrophe events, total losses, or significant structural damage claims.
• Ability to analyze policy language, interpret coverage, and apply it according to varying state regulations and compliance standards.
• Capacity to adapt to changing regulatory environments.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in claims handling, estimating, supplements, and using Xactimate or similar software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly for sensitive or complex claims.
• Experience with field or large loss claims, attorney- or public-adjuster-represented claims, and mitigation vendors.
• Ability to manage claims from start to finish, including writing estimates, managing supplements, and finalizing settlements.
• Willingness to work weekends and extended hours during catastrophe events.
• Capability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a virtual setting.
• Bilingual skills and/or prior military experience are advantageous.
• Ability to obtain the necessary adjuster and/or appraiser licenses within 60 days of hire, if applicable.
• Must meet minimum internet requirements of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
• Successful completion of a background check is required.
