This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +39 more states.
β’ Manage first- and third-party casualty claims related to injuries, including cases with both represented and unrepresented claimants.
β’ Take ownership of claims when injury exposure is identified.
β’ Handle claims across various states, including those that are licensed and statutory.
β’ Address low-complexity property damage claims related to homeowner liability.
β’ Assist with Small Claims matters until resolution.
β’ Provide support for claims related to catastrophes and straightforward homeowner losses.
β’ Oversee, investigate, negotiate, settle, and resolve injury claims valued at less than $50,000.
β’ Manage claim assignments through specified queues in the claims system.
β’ Perform self-directed triage.
β’ Make coverage determinations and offer advice to customers regarding coverage issues.
β’ Conduct interviews with witnesses and gather and analyze evidence, including medical records.
β’ Ascertain the necessity of an independent medical examination.
β’ Represent insured individuals or the company at settlement conferences when required.
β’ Attend arbitrations and trials as necessary.
β’ Provide deposition testimony when required.
β’ Assess subrogation potential and initiate subrogation notifications.
β’ Make settlement decisions within authorized limits and formulate negotiating strategies.
β’ Present cases to a committee when seeking authority beyond settlement limits, then negotiate and settle claims independently.
β’ Communicate with customers and other parties through writing, telephone, and electronic means in a virtual environment.
β’ High school diploma or equivalent education combined with 2+ years of relevant work experience.
β’ Minimum of 2 years of professional experience related to the role.
β’ At least 2 years of experience in claims handling.
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
β’ Ability to work autonomously.
β’ Excellent decision-making skills.
β’ Strong focus on customer service.
β’ Basic proficiency in math and computer skills.
β’ Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
β’ Proficient oral and written communication skills with a good command of the English language.
β’ Capability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
β’ Ability to successfully complete relevant training courses related to job responsibilities.
β’ Developing knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements.
β’ Willingness to travel on rare occasions.
β’ Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
β’ 1+ years of casualty experience is preferred.
β’ No visa sponsorship available; must have authorization to work indefinitely in the US.
β’ Valid Oklahoma license is required.
