This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and nurture a team of casualty claims experts through coaching, performance oversight, and career advancement.
• Review and supervise claim files to ensure they are handled in a timely, accurate, and effective manner.
• Allocate claims based on their complexity, the expertise of the adjusters, and their current workload.
• Provide guidance on intricate coverage issues, liability concerns, compensability, reserving strategies, and claim resolution tactics.
• Manage highly intricate commercial casualty claims and litigated cases as necessary.
• Review and authorize reservation of rights, denial letters, claim payments, and reserve adjustments within designated authority.
• Collaborate with legal counsel, coverage specialists, subrogation teams, and claims committees regarding complex exposures.
• Ensure adherence to claims best practices, regulatory standards, authority levels, and documentation protocols.
• Monitor team productivity, claim quality, loss costs, and expense management effectively.
• Recruit, coach, and retain talent while fostering succession planning, innovation, and inclusion initiatives.
• Cultivate relationships with agents, insured individuals, and internal business partners to provide outstanding customer experiences.
• Work together with leadership on identifying trends, analyzing results, and recognizing opportunities while enhancing EMC’s claims brand and service culture.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience is required.
• A minimum of eight years of experience in casualty claims adjusting or a related field, including handling large and complex claims.
• Must possess all relevant state licenses as required.
• Previous leadership experience is necessary.
• Preferred insurance designations include INS, AIC, and CPCU.
• Strong understanding and application of casualty claims techniques are essential.
• Up-to-date knowledge of various jurisdictions, good faith claims handling requirements, and legal frameworks is required.
• Advanced knowledge of insurance terms and coverages in commercial lines is necessary.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the capability to inspire and motivate staff.
• Proficient in computer systems and claims management software.
• Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities are required.
• Ability to collect and analyze data points for effective claims handling triage.
• Advanced investigative and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight stays.
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record is required for travel per company standards.
