This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.
• Assume full responsibility for a varied caseload of third-party automobile injury claims.
• Investigate, assess, negotiate, and resolve claims at all phases, including cases that are unrepresented, represented, in early litigation, and those with time-sensitive policy limit demands.
• Understand and apply the provisions, conditions, and exclusions outlined in policy language.
• Integrate relevant state laws, judicial rulings, and regulations into claims management.
• Oversee a portfolio of casualty claim files.
• Recognize high-risk matters, ensure follow-up, and take prompt action to mitigate claim exposure.
• Draft coverage position letters, denials, and other correspondence as necessary.
• Manage claims to ensure fair, efficient, and timely resolutions while minimizing indemnity, defense, and claim-related expenses.
• Work collaboratively across the claims department and provide mentorship on coverage and liability concepts.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance business outcomes and increase operational efficiency.
• Respond to inquiries from attorneys, regulators, producers, vendors, and consumers.
• At least 5 years of experience in auto insurance casualty claims.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Spanish language proficiency is an advantage.
• Advanced knowledge and a proven track record in resolving complex, severe-injury claims.
• Experience in non-standard auto insurance is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with Tennessee regulations is a plus.
• Strong negotiation skills on complex claims.
• Exceptional attention to detail resulting in high-quality work output.
• Ability to think critically and provide practical solutions.
• Strong skills in coverage and liability analysis.
• Understanding of state laws and regulations pertaining to claims practices.
• Capacity to solve problems and find solutions promptly.
• Knowledge of court processes and concepts.
• Willingness to present intriguing coverage and/or liability cases to management and fellow adjusters within the Casualty team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in technology, particularly Microsoft Office applications – Word and Excel.
