This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.
• Assume complete responsibility for a varied portfolio of third-party automobile injury claims.
• Conduct investigations, assessments, negotiations, and resolutions for claims at all levels, including cases involving unrepresented and represented parties, early litigation, and urgent policy limit demand situations.
• Understand and apply provisions, conditions, and exclusions of policy language.
• Integrate relevant state laws, judicial rulings, and regulations into your work.
• Keep an updated inventory of casualty claim files.
• Recognize high-risk issues and take prompt actions to reduce legal, financial, and extra-contractual risks.
• Prepare coverage position letters, denials, and related correspondence.
• Oversee claims to ensure fair, efficient, and timely resolutions while keeping claim expenses to a minimum.
• Collaborate with other teams within the claims department and mentor staff on coverage and liability topics.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance business outcomes and efficiency.
• Address inquiries from attorneys, regulatory bodies, vendors, and consumers.
• At least 5 years of experience in auto insurance casualty claims.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
• Advanced expertise and demonstrated success in resolving complex, severe-injury claims.
• Experience in non-standard auto insurance is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with Tennessee regulations is advantageous.
• Strong negotiation skills for handling complex claims effectively.
• Keen attention to detail to produce high-quality work.
• Ability to think critically and provide practical solutions.
• Strong skills in coverage and liability analysis.
• Knowledge of state laws and regulations related to claims practices.
• Capacity to resolve issues and find solutions swiftly.
• Understanding of court processes and concepts.
• Ability and eagerness to present engaging coverage and/or liability cases to management and other adjusters within the Casualty team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in technology, specifically Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
