This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct well-being checks and follow-up communications with children and sponsors.
• Offer support to both children and their sponsors.
• Evaluate and refer families for additional services tailored to their needs.
• Manage a dynamic caseload of post-release services.
• Adhere to US and ORR policies, procedures, and mandated timelines.
• Work collaboratively with care providers to verify and assess information vital for successful sponsorship.
• Assess the capability of sponsors to provide suitable care and a safe living environment.
• Identify, verify, and recommend further support, resources, or information as needed.
• Maintain phone contact and conduct virtual and occasional in-person home visits.
• Collaborate with PRS Caseworkers and PRS Case Managers to assess case progression.
• Deliver ongoing caseworker services through assessment, planning, evaluation, facilitation, and psychoeducation.
• Keep documentation accurate, safeguard confidential records, and protect personally identifiable information.
• Identify and report concerns, significant life events, and important incidents to the program and ORR.
• Act as a mandated reporter, reporting abuse, neglect, and exploitation to the appropriate entities.
• Engage in training, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Attend training sessions, departmental meetings, and program meetings.
• Travel to surrounding locations in the United States for in-person visits as necessary.
• May work evenings and weekends to meet deadlines and reporting requirements.
• Perform related duties as assigned and adjust practices as necessary to fulfill program needs.
• A minimum of one year of experience working with children and youth, case management, or child welfare services.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, or another social service field is preferred.
• Proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases is required.
• Must be proficient in Spanish and capable of effective communication with children, sponsors, and staff.
• Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
• A valid state driver’s license and eligibility to drive to facilitate program services as mandated by contractual agreements.
• Ability to obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
• Ability to obtain First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR).
