Case Manager – Life & Disability Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate Short-Term and Long-Term Disability claims

• Implement rules and regulations as specified in the Group Policy and CLHIA guidelines

• Plan, execute, and assess case management principles

• Ensure accurate benefit payments are issued

• Communicate with professionalism and precision to all stakeholders

• Oversee assigned portfolio and establish expertise in designated groups

• Develop and track treatment plans

• Design return-to-work and rehabilitation programs

• Cultivate relationships with all involved parties

• Offer expert guidance to both internal and external clients

• Liaise with Medical Underwriting, Group Underwriting, Sales, Group Administration, and Accounting concerning claims activities, eligibility, and financial transactions

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in managing disability claims

• A degree or diploma in a health-related field such as Nursing, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Medicine, or Social Work is advantageous

• Experience in mental health claims management is a plus

• Familiarity with the insurance benefit industry is beneficial

• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills

• Proven excellence in decision-making, particularly in high-pressure situations

• Strong collaborative skills and a cooperative demeanor

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

• Demonstrated adaptability, creativity, and independence

• Capability to effectively engage with external stakeholders and colleagues

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory

• Certification as a Disability Management Professional (CDMP) is an asset

• Enrollment in LOMA or other industry-related educational courses is beneficial

• A satisfactory criminal record check is required as a condition of employment following a conditional offer
