This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Provide career coaching through phone calls, in-person at government-sponsored events, and virtually via MySECO, webinars, video coaching, and social media platforms.
• Offer tailored career support to military spouses, including career exploration, education and training, employment assistance, and work-life planning.
• Inform military spouses about SECO services, such as the MyCAA Scholarship and other career resources.
• Act as the primary government source for education and career development assistance throughout the military lifecycle.
• Provide details on federal, state, and local occupational licensing and credentialing requirements for portable occupations both nationally and internationally.
• Ensure continuity by allowing military spouses to work with the same career coach over extended periods.
• Develop and revise educational materials in collaboration with the Government.
• Meticulously document coaching sessions in government systems.
• Address military spouse needs through LinkedIn, Facebook, MySECO, and other online platforms.
• Assist with the incoming call queue during peak times.
• Work scheduled shifts within call center operating hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM EST, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Career Counseling, Higher Education Administration/Leadership, Education, Adult Education, or a related field.
• Over 4 years of professional experience providing individualized career support to diverse adult populations.
• Active CCC, CWDP, or NCC certification; non-certified candidates must obtain CWDP or CCC within 6 months of hire under specified alternatives.
• Three years of experience in training development and delivery, public speaking, group presentations, and facilitation, ideally in adult education or medical/non-medical environments.
• Two years of experience supervising or managing social services and/or education programs, systems, and services.
• Experience in career coaching across areas such as career assessments, exploration, decision-making, resume writing, personal branding, interviewing, and job search strategies.
• Proficiency in administering and interpreting career assessments.
• A holistic approach to adult career and educational objectives.
• Background in higher education or significant knowledge of post-secondary institutions and certificate/degree offerings.
• Experience in preparing and delivering presentations and/or webinars.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven success in a collaborative team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong technological and research capabilities; able to navigate multiple computer systems and web-based platforms concurrently.
• Home broadband internet with upload and download speeds exceeding 3 Mb.
• Willingness to commit to full-time training for the first 6 to 8 weeks.
• Access to U.S. Government facilities and systems.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
• Successful completion of the comprehensive government background check process.
• A suitable home office setup.
• Capability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
