Career Coach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Offer career coaching via phone, in-person at government-sponsored events, and virtually through MySECO, webinars, and social media platforms.

• Provide personalized career support to military spouses, focusing on career exploration, educational and training opportunities, employment aid, and work-life objectives.

• Inform military spouses about SECO services, including the MyCAA Scholarship and various career resources.

• Act as the main government resource for assisting military spouses with their education and career development throughout the military lifecycle.

• Supply details on federal, state, and local licensing and credentialing requirements for portable occupations and career fields both nationally and globally.

• Ensure continuity by allowing military spouses to work with the same career coach over extended periods.

• Develop and update educational materials in collaboration with the Government.

• Accurately document coaching sessions in government systems.

• Address the needs of military spouses on LinkedIn, Facebook, MySECO, and additional online platforms.

• Support the inbound call queue during peak periods.

• Work assigned shifts within call-center hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM EST, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Career Counseling, Higher Education Administration/Leadership, Education, Adult Education, or a related field.

• Over 4 years of professional experience providing individualized career support to diverse adult populations.

• Active CCC, CWDP, or NCC certification; non-certified candidates must obtain CWDP or CCC within 6 months of hire under specified qualifications.

• 3 years of experience in training development and delivery, public speaking, group presentations, and facilitation.

• 2 years of supervisory or oversight experience in social services and/or education programs, systems, and services.

• Proven experience delivering career coaching throughout the entire career development process.

• Experience in administering and interpreting career assessments.

• Utilization of a holistic approach to support adults in achieving career and educational goals.

• Background in higher education or extensive knowledge of post-secondary institutions and certificate/degree programs.

• Skilled in developing and delivering presentations and/or webinars.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Demonstrated success in a collaborative team environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.

• Strong technology and research skills, with the ability to navigate multiple computer systems and web-based platforms simultaneously.

• Reliable home broadband internet with upload and download speeds exceeding 3Mb.

• Willingness to adhere to a full-time training schedule during the initial 6 to 8 weeks.

• U.S. Citizenship, valid driver's license, transportation, and auto insurance required.

• Capability to complete and pass the full government background check process.

• Home office setup is necessary.

• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
