This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide education to families regarding the Ontario Autism Program, highlighting available options and services.
• Ensure that applicant information is accurately maintained and updated in the database.
• Assist families in making informed choices regarding the next steps for Core Clinical Services.
• Empower applicants and communities to recognize and support Autistic Children and Youth by valuing their strengths, competencies, expertise, resilience, and abilities.
• Promote inclusion, personal development, and active community participation.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions aimed at supporting operational objectives.
• Attend mandatory training related to the determination of needs process, data collection tools, and associated business procedures.
• Conduct determination of needs interviews following a defined procedure to evaluate children’s support needs and establish funding amounts for Core Clinical Services.
• Gather information and provide feedback to enhance the determination of needs tool and process.
• Act as a secondary reviewer when necessary to uphold quality measures, including inter-rater reliability.
• Contribute to the organization’s operational goals and other business initiatives.
• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 3 years of experience in human services, social services, or a clinically related field, particularly in supporting families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or developmental disabilities. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be accepted.
• Adopts a family-centered, person-directed approach to support.
• Exhibits flexibility in engaging with families and is comfortable navigating difficult conversations with compassion and empathy.
• Experience in working with children and youth on the autism spectrum and their families, including conducting assessments or family interviews, is an advantage.
• Possesses a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with autism, intellectual, or developmental disabilities throughout their lifespan.
• Extensive knowledge of the developmental services sector and community resources available in the designated region.
• Excellent skills in relationship-building, collaboration, and conflict resolution within a system-wide environment.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Familiarity with clinical terminology and the capacity to communicate effectively with families using accessible language.
• General understanding of typical child development.
• Fluency in written and oral French, Mandarin, or Cantonese is highly preferred; knowledge of additional languages and experience with Indigenous families are beneficial.
• Demonstrates sound professional judgment, the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt flexibly.
• Proficient in database management, email, Microsoft Office applications, social media, and other technological tools.
• Detail-oriented and capable of completing administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong commitment to social justice, equity, inclusion, and cultural competency.
• A current police reference check is required.
