This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Evaluate and diagnose the existing business landscape within designated accounts for Amgen cardiovascular products.
• Strategize and implement actions to ensure success in assigned accounts.
• Collaborate internally with the matrix team and externally with clients to foster robust relationships.
• Act as the strategic lead for designated key accounts.
• Develop and implement compliant, innovative strategies to engage priority providers.
• Guarantee institutional availability in both inpatient and outpatient care environments.
• Spearhead initiatives that promote sustainable institution/system utilization.
• Formulate and execute comprehensive account plans that align with the cardiovascular business strategy.
• Partner with field teams and coordinated medical science liaisons.
• Engage with opinion leaders and decision-makers in Cardiology, Lipidology, Pharmacy, and P&T Committees.
• Present MAC-approved data/messages in accordance with governing policies.
• Promote appropriate utilization of approved cardiovascular products while coordinating pull-through and access.
• Monitor account performance, Amgen cardiovascular business metrics, and market trends.
• Identify obstacles and orchestrate pull-through initiatives among field teams.
• Coordinate engagement with the Amgen home office, approved programs, displays, and hospital initiatives.
• Cultivate professional relationships with hospital pharmacy, lipid clinical, heart failure clinical, quality, and finance decision-makers.
• Collaborate with Access Specialists to ensure open access to Amgen’s portfolio.
• Provide field intelligence, insights, and recommendations to Business Analytics, Brand, and Market Access teams.
• Doctorate degree & 2 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience, OR Master’s degree & 4 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience, OR Bachelor’s degree & 6 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of account management and/or public payor experience is highly preferred.
• Advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MBA, PharmD, etc.) and 7+ years of healthcare sales and/or marketing experience or related experience in buying processes and decision-making is preferred.
• Experience in clinic, hospital, dyslipidemia, heart failure, access environments, applicable competitors, and industry is preferred.
• Cardiology experience, particularly in dyslipidemia, heart failure, and acute coronary syndromes, is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of the current environment and trends in community cardiology practices.
• Familiarity with internal and external dynamics in dyslipidemia and heart failure.
• District Management Experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of hospital committee structures, P&T processes, treatment and discharge protocols, DRG, and hospital reimbursement processes.
• Functional knowledge of Medicare and Government agencies.
• Understanding of payor systems.
• Knowledge of CMS policies and processes.
• Proven ability to collaborate with the sales force to address payor-related issues.
• Leadership ability focused on influence, impact, and leading without formal authority.
• Capability to identify key personnel and departments that influence biopharmaceutical product utilization and maintain relationships with decision-makers.
• Ability to identify and secure necessary resources to achieve account goals.
• Proficient in analyzing clinic economics/financial performance and various data sources.
• Exceptional interpersonal, networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
