This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.
• Evaluate and diagnose the existing business landscape within assigned accounts concerning Amgen Cardiovascular products.
• Strategize and implement actions for success within designated accounts.
• Collaborate internally with matrix teams and externally with customers to foster relationships and enhance portfolio performance and brand strategies.
• Act as the strategic lead for assigned key accounts.
• Implement compliant and innovative strategies to engage priority healthcare providers.
• Ensure availability of products in both inpatient and outpatient care settings.
• Spearhead initiatives that promote sustainable utilization within institutions/systems.
• Craft and execute comprehensive account plans that align with the cardiovascular business strategy.
• Work in conjunction with field teams and aligned medical science liaisons.
• Engage with opinion leaders and decision-makers in Cardiology, Lipidology, Pharmacy, and P&T Committees.
• Present MAC-approved data and messages while adhering to governing policies.
• Promote appropriate utilization of approved cardiovascular products and facilitate pull-through and access.
• Monitor account performance and market conditions.
• Identify barriers and coordinate pull-through initiatives with field teams.
• Manage home-office engagement, approved programs, displays, and hospital initiatives.
• Establish professional relationships with decision-makers in hospital pharmacy, clinical, quality, and finance sectors.
• Coordinate with Access Specialists to ensure open access to Amgen’s portfolio.
• Provide field intelligence, insights, and recommendations to Business Analytics, Brand, and Market Access teams.
• Doctorate degree plus 2 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience, or a Master’s degree with 4 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of sales experience and/or related account management experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of account management and/or public payor experience is strongly preferred.
• An advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MBA, PharmD, etc.) with 7+ years of healthcare sales and/or marketing experience, or related experience in buying processes and decision-making.
• Experience in clinic, hospital, dyslipidemia, heart failure, access environments, applicable competitors, and industry preferred.
• Cardiology experience, particularly with dyslipidemia, heart failure, and acute coronary syndromes, is highly preferred.
• A thorough understanding of the current landscape and trends in community cardiology practices.
• Familiarity with the internal and external dynamics in both dyslipidemia and heart failure.
• District Management Experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of hospital committee structures, P&T processes, treatment and discharge protocols, DRG, and hospital reimbursement processes.
• Functional knowledge of Medicare and Government agencies.
• Understanding of payor systems.
• Awareness of CMS policies and processes.
• Documented capability to collaborate with sales forces to address payor-related issues.
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills focused on influence, impact, and leading without direct authority.
• Ability to identify key personnel and departments influencing biopharmaceutical product utilization and maintain relationships with decision-makers.
• Capacity to identify and mobilize appropriate Amgen resources to meet account objectives.
• Proficient in analyzing clinic economics/financial performance and diverse data sources.
• Exceptional interpersonal, networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing priorities.
