This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and diagnose the existing business landscape within assigned accounts related to Amgen Cardiovascular offerings.

• Strategize and implement successful actions within designated accounts.

• Collaborate internally with the matrix team and externally with clients to foster strong relationships, enhancing portfolio performance and brand strategies.

• Act as the strategic lead for key accounts, deploying compliant and innovative strategies to engage priority healthcare providers.

• Ensure that products are available across both inpatient and outpatient care environments.

• Lead initiatives that promote sustainable utilization within institutions or systems.

• Create and implement detailed account plans that align with the cardiovascular business strategy and the needs of institutions.

• Work together with field teams and associated medical science liaisons.

• Regularly meet with opinion leaders and decision-makers in Cardiology, Lipidology, Pharmacy, and P&T Committees.

• Deliver MAC-approved data/messages while adhering to governing policies.

• Promote the appropriate use of approved cardiovascular products and coordinate access and pull-through efforts.

• Monitor account performance and market changes.

• Identify key drivers and barriers and facilitate pull-through initiatives across field teams.

• Manage Amgen home-office interactions with clients and organize approved programs, displays, and hospital initiatives.

• Establish professional relationships with decision-makers in hospital pharmacy, lipid clinical, heart failure clinical, quality, and finance.

• Partner with Access Specialists to ensure open access to Amgen’s product portfolio.

• Provide field intelligence, insights, and recommendations to Business Analytics, Brand, and Market Access teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate degree with 2 years of sales and/or related account management experience, or a Master’s degree with 4 years of sales and/or related account management experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of sales and/or related account management experience.

• A minimum of 3 years of account management and/or public payer experience is strongly preferred.

• An advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MBA, PharmD, etc.) alongside 7+ years of healthcare sales and/or marketing experience or relevant experience in buying processes and decision-making is desirable.

• Experience in clinic, hospital, dyslipidemia, heart failure, access environments, applicable competitors, and industry is preferred.

• Preferred experience in cardiology, including dyslipidemia, heart failure, and acute coronary syndromes.

• Strong understanding of current trends and dynamics in community cardiology practices.

• Knowledge of internal and external factors influencing dyslipidemia and heart failure.

• Preferred experience in district management.

• Familiarity with hospital committee structures, P&T processes, treatment and discharge protocols, DRG, and hospital reimbursement processes.

• Functional knowledge of Medicare and government agencies.

• Understanding of payer systems.

• Knowledge of CMS policies and procedures.

• Proven ability to collaborate with the sales force to address payer-related challenges.

• Leadership skills focused on influence, impact, and leading without direct authority.

• Capability to identify key personnel and departments affecting biopharmaceutical product usage and maintain relationships with decision-makers.

• Ability to identify and secure appropriate Amgen resources to meet account goals.

• Proficient in analyzing clinic economics/financial performance and various data sources.

• Exceptional interpersonal, networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing priorities.

• Creative problem-solving abilities.

• Initiative to drive energy and enthusiasm within teams and work independently.

• A broad range of computer skills.
