This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Evaluate and analyze the existing business landscape within designated accounts concerning Amgen Cardiovascular products.
• Strategize and implement actions to achieve success within assigned accounts.
• Act as the strategic lead for key accounts assigned.
• Develop and apply compliant, innovative strategies to engage priority healthcare providers.
• Guarantee institutional availability in both inpatient and outpatient care environments.
• Spearhead initiatives that promote sustainable utilization within the institution/system.
• Formulate and execute account plans that align with the cardiovascular business strategy and the needs of the institution.
• Collaborate effectively with field teams and medical science liaisons.
• Engage with opinion leaders and decision-makers in Cardiology, Lipidology, Pharmacy, and Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committees.
• Present MAC-approved data and messaging in adherence to governing policies.
• Promote the appropriate utilization of approved cardiovascular products while coordinating pull-through and access strategies.
• Monitor account performance, Amgen Cardiovascular business performance, and market dynamics.
• Identify obstacles and organize pull-through initiatives across field teams.
• Coordinate engagement from the home office, including approved programs, displays, and hospital initiatives.
• Cultivate professional relationships with decision-makers in hospital pharmacy, lipid clinical, heart failure clinical, quality, and finance sectors.
• Collaborate with Access Specialists to ensure open access to Amgen’s product portfolio.
• Provide field intelligence, insights, and recommendations to the Business Analytics, Brand, and Market Access teams.
• Doctorate degree with 2 years of sales and/or relevant account management experience, or a Master’s degree with 4 years of sales and/or relevant account management experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of sales and/or relevant account management experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of account management and/or public payer experience is strongly preferred.
• An advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MBA, PharmD, etc.) along with 7+ years of experience in healthcare sales and/or marketing or related experience in purchasing processes and decision-making.
• Preferred experience in clinics, hospitals, dyslipidemia, heart failure, access environments, applicable competitors, and the industry.
• Highly preferred experience in cardiology, including dyslipidemia, heart failure, and acute coronary syndromes.
• A strong comprehension of the current landscape and trends in community cardiology practices.
• Understanding of both internal and external factors influencing dyslipidemia and heart failure.
• Experience in District Management is preferred.
• Familiarity with hospital committee structures, Pharmacy & Therapeutics processes, treatment and discharge protocols, Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG), and hospital reimbursement processes.
• Functional knowledge of Medicare and governmental agencies.
• Knowledge of payer systems.
• Acquainted with CMS policies and procedures.
• Proven ability to collaborate with the sales force to address payer-related challenges.
• Leadership qualities focused on influence, impact, and leading without formal authority.
• Capability to identify key personnel and departments that influence biopharmaceutical product utilization and maintain relationships with decision-makers.
• Ability to identify and acquire suitable Amgen resources to meet account objectives.
• Proficiency in analyzing clinic economics/financial performance and varied data sources.
• Exceptional skills in networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation, and both written and verbal communication.
