Cardiology Nurse Practitioner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments for patients through telehealth, which includes reviewing medical histories, conducting physical exams, and utilizing diagnostic tests.

• Develop differential diagnoses and all-encompassing treatment strategies.

• Prescribe necessary medications and arrange for diagnostic examinations.

• Oversee chronic cardiovascular illnesses remotely, with a focus on advanced heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias, and coronary artery disease.

• Track patient progress, evaluate real-time data, and modify care pathways to enhance cardiac function and minimize hospital readmissions.

• Execute, adjust, and manage Guideline-Directed Medical Therapy (GDMT) in accordance with ACC/AHA guidelines.

• Instruct patients and their families about cardiovascular conditions, preventive measures, lifestyle changes, medication compliance, fluid and dietary management, exercise, and smoking cessation.

• Collaborate with cardiologists, primary care physicians, and other healthcare team members.

• Engage in discussions regarding complex cases and take part in multidisciplinary care teams.

• Keep abreast of cardiology research and integrate evidence-based methods into practice.

• Get involved in research initiatives or quality enhancement programs.

• Ensure accurate documentation of patient records, evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

• Advocate for the needs and preferences of patients.

• Pursue ongoing professional education and maintain relevant certifications.

• Engage in quality assurance initiatives.

• Work from Monday to Friday, between 9 am and 5 pm PST.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on cardiology or a related advanced practice nursing area.

• A minimum of 3 years of dedicated experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient cardiology setting or clinic.

• Must possess an active, current, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license, ideally in a Compact State.

• Obtain and sustain Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification in cardiology from a recognized certifying organization, such as ANCC or AANPCB, in a pertinent Nurse Practitioner specialty.

• ACLS certification is required or highly recommended.

• Proven ability in outpatient management.

• Capability to interpret intricate diagnostic tests, including ECGs and echocardiograms.

• Expertise in enhancing clinical outcomes for advanced heart failure populations.

• Demonstrated skill in the practical application, optimization, and protocol titration of Guideline-Directed Medical Therapy (GDMT).

• Exceptional communication abilities for virtual patient education and teamwork across disciplines.

• Capacity to make critical decisions, analyze complex cardiac scenarios, and swiftly adapt treatment plans.

• Display compassion and empathy while interacting with patients and their families.

• Attention to detail in patient evaluations, virtual documentation, and treatment plans.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, remote patient monitoring (RPM) tools, and digital health technologies.

• Must be available to work from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm PST.
