Cardiology Nurse Practitioner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments for patients via telehealth, including reviewing medical histories, conducting physical exams, and administering diagnostic tests.

• Develop differential diagnoses and create treatment strategies for cardiac conditions.

• Prescribe medications and arrange for necessary diagnostic tests.

• Oversee chronic cardiovascular issues remotely, with a focus on advanced heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias, and coronary artery disease.

• Track patient progress, evaluate real-time data, and modify care plans to enhance cardiac function and reduce hospital readmissions.

• Execute, adjust, and oversee Guideline-Directed Medical Therapy for heart failure and complex cardiac populations in accordance with ACC/AHA guidelines.

• Educate patients and their families about cardiovascular diseases, prevention, lifestyle changes, medication adherence, GDMT, fluid and diet management, exercise, and smoking cessation.

• Collaborate with cardiologists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals for coordinated care on complex cases.

• Stay updated with cardiology research and apply evidence-based practices.

• Engage in research projects or quality improvement initiatives.

• Keep precise patient records and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Advocate for the needs and preferences of patients.

• Pursue ongoing education in cardiology and maintain relevant certifications.

• Take part in quality assurance programs.

• Work Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm EST.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on cardiology or a related advanced practice nursing area.

• At least 3 years of dedicated experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient cardiology setting or clinic environment.

• Must possess an active, current, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license, preferably in a Compact State.

• Obtain and maintain Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification in cardiology from a recognized certifying body, such as ANCC or AANPCB, in an appropriate specialty.

• Proven proficiency in managing outpatient care.

• Ability to interpret intricate diagnostic tests, including ECGs and echocardiograms.

• Expertise in improving clinical outcomes for advanced heart failure populations.

• Demonstrated knowledge in the practical application, optimization, and protocol titration of GDMT.

• ACLS certification is required or highly recommended.

• Strong communication skills for virtual patient education and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

• Capability to make critical decisions, analyze complex cardiac cases, and adapt treatment strategies.

• Compassion and empathy in interactions with patients and their families.

• Exceptional attention to detail in patient assessments, virtual documentation, and treatment strategies.

• Familiarity with EHR systems, remote patient monitoring tools, and digital healthcare technologies.
