CAR T Cell Collection Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute commercial CAR-T apheresis and cryopreservation initiatives that support the regional Center of Excellence.

• Facilitate and conduct the qualification and training processes for hospitals across the EMEA region.

• Oversee the transfer of cryopreservation technologies to local hospitals and centralized cell processing facilities.

• Serve as the primary liaison and maintain relationships with suppliers of commercial apheresis and/or cryopreservation services.

• Implement site qualification and onboarding processes.

• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of information technology, logistics, and medical procedures.

• Manage issues, risks, and changes effectively.

• Track metrics to evaluate site performance.

• Build and enhance infrastructure and capabilities that support regional commercial operations.

• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

• Organize and sustain a virtual network of suppliers for apheresis and cryopreservation starting materials.

• Lead technical collaborations with cell therapy teams and commercial CAR-T teams.

• Oversee certification activities for cell collection sites and provide necessary training.

• Handle near-real-time quality investigations related to apheresis and cryopreservation.

• Collaborate with hospitals as suppliers, conduct technical assessments, and identify opportunities for performance enhancement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A master’s or bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific or engineering field is preferred.

• An advanced degree or relevant experience in a related discipline, such as apheresis, is preferred.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, hospital, or blood bank setting is required.

• Comprehensive knowledge of cGMP and the EU Tissue and Cell Directives is essential.

• Complete proficiency in European Regulations and Directives; familiarity with JACIE standards and CAR-T supply chain quality standards is ideal.

• Prior experience in a cell therapy laboratory or clinical apheresis is preferred.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within multinational teams and a diverse environment.

• Project management skills and the capability to interact cross-functionally with clinical personnel are required.

• Experience working autonomously and within a matrixed team environment is required.

• Proven agility and the ability to make independent decisions.

• Flexibility to adapt to evolving situations, prioritize tasks based on objectives, and provide solutions to problems is required.

• Fluency in English is mandatory.

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking at least one of Italian, French, or German is preferred.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
