This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the stress testing and capital planning initiatives at Flagstar.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and integrate necessary data and materials.
• Update and maintain capital planning documents, policies, and contingency strategies.
• Direct the design of internal stress test scenarios, focusing on specific risks.
• Supervise review and challenge sessions regarding forecasted results, including PPNR and credit losses.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses and apply the correct overlays.
• Prepare and submit regulatory stress testing reports along with the final capital plan.
• Create summaries of stress test outcomes and recommended capital actions for senior management and the Board.
• Carry out ad hoc capital analyses, including peer comparisons.
• Ensure the integrity of quality controls, data governance, data integrity, and compliance with risk management standards.
• Address data issues in collaboration with Data Governance teams.
• Assist in regulatory, risk, and internal audits and respond to findings.
• Manage examination requests, company resources, program risks, deliverables, planning, and resource allocation.
• Oversee talent management aspects, including hiring, performance assessments, employee development, disciplinary measures, and succession planning.
• Provide counsel to senior leadership regarding capital efficiency and risk mitigation strategies.
• Maintain governance of capital planning and ensure adherence to policies.
• Monitor changing regulatory expectations and best practices within the industry.
• Execute improvements in stress testing processes and model updates.
• Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree (4 years or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience in a similar field.
• Over 6 years of experience in financial risk management, capital planning, or stress testing.
• Participation in enterprise stress testing processes or the preparation of regulatory capital plans.
• Understanding of regulatory capital requirements and stress testing frameworks, including DFAST/CCAR and Basel III.
• Proficient in financial modeling and scenario analysis.
• Advanced skills in Excel.
• Capable of leading cross-functional projects or teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient in presenting complex financial analyses to senior executives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, detail-oriented, accurate, and prioritization skills.
• Preferred: Master’s degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, or a professional certification such as CFA or FRM.
• Preferred: Experience in a bank subject to regulatory stress testing and regulatory examinations.
• Preferred: Knowledge of data governance, model risk management, liquidity risk, resolution planning, data analysis tools, or statistical modeling.
• Travel requirements: 10% or less.
