This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Hampshire, +1 more state.
• Identify, cultivate, and secure new business opportunities in industrial process water and wastewater treatment.
• Utilize technical knowledge and Xylem Light Industries technologies across sectors including Pharma, Microelectronics, Data Centers, Beverage, and Advanced Manufacturing.
• Meet order booking, revenue, and profitability targets from initial lead generation to project handoff.
• Establish and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline along with accurate CRM records and forecasting.
• Engage in prospecting through direct customer interactions, Lunch & Learns, trade shows, industry events, networking, and various business development initiatives.
• Acquire new clients, grow existing accounts, and implement account strategies for targeted customers.
• Forge relationships with key decision-makers, engineering leaders, sustainability advocates, operations heads, EPC firms, consulting engineers, contractors, and integrators.
• Position Xylem early in project development stages, influence specifications, and identify new opportunities.
• Conduct market research and monitor competitive activity, industry trends, and customer investment strategies.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineering, Project Management, Service, Operations, Finance, Legal, and other internal teams.
• Develop solutions, create proposals, navigate commercial processes, assist in contract negotiations and approvals, secure orders, and ensure successful project delivery.
• Work collaboratively across Xylem divisions to identify enterprise engagement opportunities and provide integrated water, wastewater, reuse, and sustainability solutions.
• Operate with minimal supervision, guided generally by the Director of Capital Sales and Business Development.
• Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Engineering or a related technical field).
• Over 7 years of experience in industrial water treatment, engineered systems, process solutions, capital equipment, or similar technical sales environments.
• Proven track record in developing and closing capital project opportunities valued at $500,000 and above.
• General knowledge and experience with commercial terms and conditions, contract frameworks, and project risk factors.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned territory up to 50% of the time.
• A proactive and ambitious hunter who enjoys generating opportunities, acquiring new business, and finalizing deals.
• Self-motivated individual who takes initiative, works autonomously, and achieves results.
• Strong technical and commercial acumen, capable of addressing customer challenges, navigating customer organizations, and closing deals.
• Effective at establishing relationships with executive-level decision-makers and utilizing internal resources to advance opportunities.
• Proficient in using AI and other digital tools to enhance productivity and sales performance.
