Cape Verdean Creole – English OPI/VRI Interpreters

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Handle incoming calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology associated with the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately convey all messages in their entirety, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete message interpretation.

• Uphold established standards of practice.

• Engage in internal professional training opportunities.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and provide reports to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code standards for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English and a native speaker of Cape Verdean Creole.

• Over 1 year of telephone interpretation experience at a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is a bonus, but not essential.

• Understanding of legal terminology is beneficial.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities are required.
