Campus Staff Minister

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Pursue spiritual growth as a disciple of Jesus Christ through the study of Scripture, prayer, and worship.

• Foster self-leadership, self-awareness, self-management, relational integrity, and resilience.

• Communicate and exemplify InterVarsity’s vision for the transformation of students and faculty, campus renewal, and the development of world changers.

• Cultivate a culture of reliance on God and anticipation for initiating new witnessing communities.

• Guide students and faculty through experiences involving Scripture, prayer, teaching, and discipleship.

• Establish annual qualitative and quantitative growth objectives with students, faculty, and staff teams.

• Design, develop, align, and utilize ministry plans, programs, teams, and organizational structures.

• Assemble leadership teams that exhibit spiritual vitality, relational health, and alignment with the mission.

• Develop, implement, assess, and adjust plans to meet annual objectives.

• Align programs, structures, conferences, and teams with ministry goals.

• Mobilize students and faculty to reach out to their networks with the gospel and initiate new missional communities.

• May oversee Ministry Interns and Campus Ministry Interns under the direction of the Area Director.

• Gather, invite, and nurture diverse groups of students and faculty.

• Provide opportunities for students and faculty to encounter and follow Jesus through Scripture, worship, prayer, mission experiences, and conferences.

• Equip students and faculty to strategically engage with the campus and share the good news of Jesus.

• Disciple students and faculty while enhancing their ministry skills.

• Invite, coach, and prepare students and faculty to be effective participants and leaders.

• Collaborate with local, area, regional, and national InterVarsity staff and volunteers.

• Participate in team meetings and foster relationships.

• Affiliation of chapters and submission of Graduating Student Forms.

• Utilize national ministry resources and tools and attend required conferences.

• Complete reporting, planning, and review obligations.

• Adhere to InterVarsity policies and procedures.

• Raise 100% of the financial budget assigned by the supervisor.

• Maintain regular communication with ministry partners through visits, phone calls, emails, and prayer letters.

• Develop enduring partnerships with alumni and volunteers.

• Identify and cultivate advocates who can help build volunteer and donor networks.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities as needed.

• Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement).

• Comply with InterVarsity’s Code of Conduct.

• Believe and act in accordance with InterVarsity’s Human Sexuality Theological Paper.

• Affirm and behave in alignment with InterVarsity’s “Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation.”

• A Bachelor’s degree is required for Campus Staff Ministers (CSMs) assigned to a four-year campus.

• A minimum of an Associate’s degree is required for CSMs assigned to a two-year campus or community college.

• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to minister to diverse ethnic communities and faculty.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proven problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software.

• Willingness to travel to on-campus and off-campus locations as necessary.

• Ability to raise 100% of the financial budget assigned by the supervisor.

• Must agree with InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement: Purpose and Doctrinal Basis.
